I’ve been loving IT from an early age and I have started teaching IT and economics to teenagers and adults early in my college years. Working with children I thought to be a challenge, but it soon turned to be one of the best and most rewarding occupation. I’m in this project since the beginning of 2015, which was also the start of this project. I’m teaching the children of these centers what computers are, how they work, what can you do with them and most importantly how to use them. Starting from the basics to more advanced levels like HTML and CSS, I’m hoping to bring these children on the same level with children who have access to everything and why not go even further and make them competitive and ready to fight for a better place in society and to be an inspiration for others.
I can certainly say about myself that I’ve worked in several positions so far, but, the most fulfilling was, and still is, working with children. They are like a sponge willing to learn and gather information easily. My goal is to build better persons for a brighter future, aiming for their hopes and dreams!
Growing up I met many people who had a positive impact on me, but the ones who helped me the most were some of my teachers. You could definetly see that they were doing what they love and they inspired me to become a teacher myself. I think working with children is a big responsability because they look up to you and see you as a role model. It’s not an easy thing to do, but it’s so rewarding to see them grow and improve.
Education and pedagogy are my second big passions in life and I love discovering life through a kid’s eyes. I have been working in this field for almost 8 years from private tutoring to creating kids shows with a specialisation on alternative ways of teaching. I appreciate creativity and courage during the learning process and my strengths are empathy and adaptability.
Confucius said, “Do what you really like, and you will never work again in your life.” Well, I felt that way from the first moment I had the chance to work with children. I have been told many times that I would have the qualities of a mentor and, honestly, I feel passion and dedication in everything I do with them. Working with children is a matter of vocation. To this, I would add my lifelong passion for technology, innovation, IT, and robotics. The world is changing rapidly due primarily to technological leaps and we humans have to adapt. For me it is a fulfillment, but also a challenge to train these “new beings” – the children, thus bringing my contribution together with others, to outline a vision of a better world, a world of the future, in which all inequities will already be history and in which our beautiful blue planet will be populated by intelligent, balanced and responsible beings.
English has always been my favourite subject since schooldays. Back then, English meant stories, poems with beautiful pictures on them, music and lyrics which I wanted to learn by heart and be able to reproduce. After passing school I decided to take English as my major subject. Only then I realised that English is much more than just stories, poems and songs. The more I delved myself into it, the more beauty I found therein. Grammar began to surprise me, as well as Phonetics and those tongue twisting sounds…Aaah, amazing! I began observing my teachers and the way they were teaching us. At that point, a thought pinned me that I should also one day teach…and so I joined and graduated the Faculty of Letters, the place where I was able to learn the methods of teaching the language. Since then, no one could stop me. The more I explored, the more I fell for teaching… And I wish to continue teaching English. It’s love 🙂
